Thanks to the fan’s enthusiastic response to last year’s sold out New Year’s Eve concert, The Avett Brothers make their much anticipated return to the Belk Theater for two memorable nights. The New Year's uptown celebration begins with an 8:00 pm show on Tuesday, December 30, and includes opening acts Jason Webley and Auld Lang Syne. The party continues on Wednesday, December 31, as opening acts Jason Webley, Jessica Lea Mayfield and Paleface join Concord's favorite sons to ring in the New Year with a special performance starting at 9:00 pm.
Following up on the phenomenal success of their 2007 album Emotionalism, The Avett Brothers recently released The Second Gleam, six new songs offered with the natural lyrical clarity and honest delivery that has become synonymous with their name.
A blend of old-time country, folk, rock n' roll, pop melodies, honky tonk, and ragtime-- The Avett Brothers defy convention. Since their formation in 2000, they've grown a massive fanbase with their foot-stomping, crowd-pleasing shows, and now they're hitting the big time. The songs are honest: just chords with real voices singing real melodies. But, the heart and the energy with which they are sung is really why so many people are talking and why so many sing along.
