Harlem Gospel Choir

Show Description

The Harlem Gospel Choir has shared its message of love & inspiration with thousands of people from various nations & cultures. The Choir was founded in 1986 by Allen Bailey, who got the idea for the Choir while attending a celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Cotton Club in Harlem. The Choir presents the finest singers & musicians from Harlem's Black Churches & the New York/tri-state area. Having performed for Nelson Mandela at Yankee Stadium, for the Pope in Central Park, and on U2’s Battle and Hum album; The Harlem Gospel Choir will once again sweep audiences to their feet with their magnificent tide of euphoric music.

The Choir's love of children has prompted it to adopt the charity ""Feed The Children"". They sell multi-colored charity wristbands on their website and at their concerts around the world. All proceeds (100%) are donated to Feed the Children. So far the choir has raised $43,000.00 from the sale of the wristbands. They travel the globe and share their joy of faith through music, and raising funds for children's charities.
